Interested in HPTuners Tuning?
Wednesday, September 27, 2006 9:33 PM
I've had a great deal of people from this site specifically ask me about tuning thier cars with HPTuners and have done a couple of cars from this site already as well as numerous others in and around my area, and of course my Cavalier. If anyone is interested in having their cars tuned with the HPTuners lets talk. I am offering this as a help and service to fellow jbody owners who are looking for their cars to be tuned and are frustrated with the results they have had with band aid fixes. I am located in NY for those of you whom may be interested. I know how frustated I was back when I was attempting to tune my 99 Z24 with an SAFC and FMU and would love to help you guys out.

How much? Did you unlock the whole 99 year or just your car, because I have a '98 that thinks it's a 99 plus you have the supercharger and probably the same fuel issues I did.

I have only unlocked individual cars so the initial cost is $100 for the HPTuners credits ($49.99 per credit and each car requires 2 credits) and then the cost of tuning. The tuning depends on exactly what we would need to do to the car. Supercharged j-bodys are incredibly simple for me to tune now that i am so familiar with them so the cost wouldn't be bad at all. If interested pm me and we can work something out.

Rodimus how are you tuning for only $100? Are you recieving some sort of an HP discount or something? or are you just using some of the credits which come with HPT initially? Like i mentioned above it costs me that much alone just to get the liscensing. I have not bought liscensing for the entire years due to the fact that every car and truck I have tuned thus far is a different year and application.

100 bucks is for 2 credits for the individual car, he makes nothing for tuning besides gaining experience how to tune more and more cars...thats all

I may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.

Jim I am going to need another tune after my engine re build, but you know how that goes. I am doing an 086 head swap and maybe HO cams and HO tranny, I am going to be shooting some questions your way.

Good luck, Jim is great to work with and strives to achieve perfection!

Thanks for the kind words Chris. We will get that car of yours tuned in and up to its potential man, I know both you and I weren't satisfied with how the engine performed this past season even after it was all tuned. For all the work done in that beast it should definately be putting down more power. Feel free to ask me anything you want Chris, just drop me a pm on my forums that's the best way to contact me, thanks man.

As far as the 2.2 goes, no I have not tuned a 2.2 yet, however I have tuned numerous vehicles and numerous different engines. The software works basically the same on all of the cars, just a few minor differences here and there. Once you know how the software works and how to tune with it you can tune pretty much anything supported.
