More than likely, if they are not D.O.T. or S.A.E. approved, they are illegal. However the vast majority of cops will not notice them if your turn signals bulbs shine amber. I have had them on for several years and have never had a problem.

as far as i know these dont shine amber...they shine white, i've seen an explorer ridin around with white directionals so my guess is they're legal

I am not sure about where you live but you can just put an amber bulb in there.

So long you put an amber bulb in the socket, you will be fine. If clear lens were illiegal anywhere, then new car manufactuars would not be able to put a clear lens on the front.

multiple threads?

anyways. i've been pulled over for havin blue bulbs that looked green in my s10 blazer w/ clear corners. the police officer gave me a 5 day ticket. i had to change the bulbs and go the station and show him and he tore up the ticket. it's not a huge deal to get a ticket. it's pretty much a judgement call on the police officer. however some laws state they have to be such. ever visit the library?

I heard from a cop, in PA, that if your car came with amber reflectors it's illegal to change that.

I showed him that I at least had an amber bulb and he said that's good, but it's still illegal.

Amber is the way to go and a cop shouldn't give you any hassels. I have clear corners and an amber bulb to match, so I'm as legal as I can get.

clear corners are fine as long as they are DOT approved, unless there is a state-specific thing for your state i dont know about. however, the bulb MUST shine amber for it to be legal. thats how it is in new york. it can be a clear bulb, but must shine amber.

i didnt read all the posts so this might have been stated. when i put my clear corners on...and changed my bulbs to white instead of amber....my grandpa told me they used to put white bulbs in untill the gov made them use amber. so i think that means you can have clears as long as you have amber bulbs. i guess amber is more notceable than white or something.

I didn't fail inspection for mine. Mine are DOT/SAE approved, it says so on the lenses. Also, I have the stock bulbs that give a yellowish tint.
