Before anyone even posts, I'm not suggesting that a bunch of people get together and street race. I don't do it. Actually, most people who go don't. So don't even clog up my thread with any righteous bullsh!t. Anyone from the area knows that hundreds of cars gather every week in a parking lot, its like a huge impromptu car show and cruise. People racing on either 61st Street or on Holstein Ave are just a small part of it. My car gets out of the shop on Friday, anyone feel like meeting up on Saturday and checking out some cars?

If you want your car to come back in one piece DO NOT GO...went up there one time with some friends and well two of us go rear ended and I witnessed about 3 other accidents before I realized the idiots up there can not drive and came home...if you love your car the way it is, trust me its not worth your time...yeah there are some hot cars up there but you can see the same stuff at shows...but thats just my opinion...
Yeah I second that, like 2-3 years ago it was cool to go down. There was always nice stuff running around, vipers vettes and what not. Now its just ever kid who thinks he can drive in every kind of car that shouldnt be there. But i guess if your just chillin in the home depot parking lot thats not too bad.
I would reccomend looking at the philly meet post coming up. If i have the car up and running by then Ill be there.

it sucks now. i use to go all the time. they are impoundin' cars left and right up there. its not worth the hassle. i got a street racing ticket for driving down a road and i was the only car on the road. ever since then, i never went back. my buddy still goes but i refuse to.
I used to go all the time about 4 or 5 years ago thats when it was fun and the cops were not up your butt 24/7 ! The last time I ever went was when a friend of mine (who was driving) crashed his camaro SS because he was stupid and did not know how to drive it. After being in the car I realized that there were so many accidents going on down there with stupid people not knowing how to drive. I have never been back since than (this happened on Del ave after the train tracks) After thinking about it I was like God I love my car too much to risk something like that happening to it. There has been many other things that happened down there that I have seen and know about. All I will say is like the people above if you like your car don't go down there, look into going to a car show or something. Street racing in Philly is just bad news including hanging out in the parking lots I have seen things happen there too!

yea i hear that. ive seen some bad accidents down there. ive seen people hit by cars, people on bikes die, people running lights and crashing. its not worth it anymore
I'm definately in for the Philly meet also. I've been going down there on and off for the past 3 years, and I'll definately agree that bad sh!t goes down. Alot. It's just the only real car-related thing to do around here at night.

there usually is a good turnout on saturdays. tonight should even be good. for some weird reason, sundays are a big night in philly. i guess people wanna get the crazy stuff out of the way before they start the work week.
and yeah, as people have already said... i used to go down, i just don't feel like getting my car taken to the impound lot. i took a friend to get his car back once, and they thought i was racing in front of the damn station, i was like wtf

Be careful if you park by the "Gentleman's Club" on 61st, they have their own towing service, tow any cars not parked in a real parking spot... Good turnout, but more idiots than I remember... I saw a white cavvy, primered cavvy and black sunfire there, belong to anyone on here?

i use to take my cav up there all the time but then stopped since it just gets worse and worse now. i dont need my car getting hit because some @!#$ kid doesnt know how to drive.
