OK,well the hood on my 97 Z has pretty much rotted out on the front edge between the headlights and has a very noticeable chunk missing(thanks to a BK order tower....but thats another story, lets just say I'm taking out BK one drive-thru at a time...lol)and it just looks like 5hit now.
So my question is,would it be cheaper to get a factory OEM hood from a U-pick yard and have it painted to match my car or get aftermarket hood,as My plan for the car overall is a the Z kit with a drop and the factory z 16s w/ maybe some lower profile tires(maybe some 18s if im ever not broke),so i'm not going all out with it and spend 500 bucks on a new hood.So Just give me some input and if anyone(in the NY area)has an OEM style hood(factory or aftermarket) that they no longer need or want please let me know i'll meet ya half way if i need to.
thanks

What color you need? Im in WNY about 50 miles south of Rochester, but I could grab a hood from the yard I go to for around $50 and most of em are still in good shape
I have a CF ram air hood that you could just bolt on and go, easiest way to do it. I have some stock hoods I can get you a number for them painted since they are currently red. I am in the rochester ny.

how much would you want for the CF hood, and could ya post a pic up of it please. How do ya think it would look w/ a factory z kit w/ z3 fenders and z wheels??.

well thats the problem is,i'm not entirely sure what green my car is,were is the paint code on a 97 cavi? and i have a pick'n pull about an hour from me but how would i take the hood i removed home w/ out a truck and then i would have to get it painted my green color, and i'm not sure how much that would cost me(wow do i sound like a damn noob...lol)
Auburn P&P doesn't have @!#$ for good j-body parts if thats the yard your talking about...

That would be the one I'm talkin about, they have some j-body's there but most of em have the interiers stripped or destroyed and the exteriors are usually stripped or idiots have destroyed the good parts getting to other parts so ur right
I've got a white hood... small little rust bubble down by the headlight. But if your repainting the hood anyways its no more than a surface rust which can be taken care of.

i like that hood but my car is a 97 and i don't think that hood will fit my car,now correct me if I'm wrong, but the car in the pic looks like a 2000s cavi and i believe that hoods from 2000's cavi's won't fit my 97???

As stated, these fit w/o modification, the bumper changes, taking the difference in the headlights. This will bolt up perfectly.
your welcome glad i was actually of some use lol.
There was one at the yard I go to that would've matched the color perfectly . . . but I took it lol. There was another one but I think it already got crushed, but I know theres blue, white, purple, etc... hoods up there still

you bastard...lol j/k,i looked at my local pick'n pull and there is no hoods to match the color of my car,and i'm NOT doing a multi-colored car thing so no blue hoods on my green car..lol
I coulda sold you that hood I got, but now im fillin in the little dents and stuff on it, along with all the other body work on my car to get it ready for a full paint job. If you want call The Boneyard in Dansville, NY (585) 335-6750 I know they had a hood that color and they usually have pretty good prices (Better for me cause I know em all lol)
