Anyone in the Pittsburgh area willing to help with a header install? I had it at midas and they pretty much said they didn't want to touch it. The head bolts are slightly rusted and they didn't want to risk breaking them off. If they did break they said I would be looking at hourly rates after that which could reach 8+ hours. Also the bends are welded solid to the header and a flex pipe was installed. This would need to be cut off and somehow fixed to accept the new header.
If anyone can weld, remove some rusted head bolts and install a header... and is willing to help me out please let me know. The install needs to be done in an evening or on a weekend because I need to get to work somehow. I will pay you for your time.
Just a tip, soak all the bolts in pb blaster the day before you do the install. Will make things much easier.
pics of old and new setup?
Im always down for wrenching. I have no welding equipment, but damn near everything else.

i dont want to put them on my car yet i just want to put all the pieces together and i didnt know if any of you guys had a spring compressor
oo well i have d specs and sport lines and didn't need a spring compressor only took me like 15 mins to assemble my struts and springs.
really? i have basically the same set-up so thats good to know
yeap just assemble it all put the top mount on push down a little and screw on the top bolt. dont forget to cut the bump stop and put it on too.
how much should you cut off the bump stop? i searched and someonesaid you were supposed to cut the head of a snowman or something like that?
Yeah exactly you cut the "head" off when you go to do yours you will see what they where talking about with the "snowman"
copy well thank you for all the input
Well, sorry for the lack of follow through... I had to head out of town. A family friend picked the car up and is putting the header on. Some place in Marianville, up near Clarion. The same shop that installed the kit and painted it. Thanks for the interest and offer to help. I would be up for a meet sometime when I get the car back.
I have a spring compressor anyways.....if you do end up needing them. Shouldn't for the rear, but you might for the front.
Chrissy, ill be over round 5 on thursday. if you think youll need the compressors, lemme know, ill bring them.
^ ight just hit me up when your on your way.
