Sorry if this doesn't make a lot of sense. So does anyone know waht to do if I can't get one and does anyone know where I could get one. ? Please help me
I thank every one that does.
The proper way of using the word seen. It is not I seen it that would be I saw it. He has seen the car is the right way to use the word. English class is Cool. By the way thats my sig
Well things I can think of off hand. If you bought the car with it on the car just go back to dealer and they can look up the stock number to see what code the key is. If you didn't buy it with it on, and you also got it from a dealer they might be able to pull up your name in parts for what you have bought and get the code that way.
It's not really a lock since it's just an extended 19mm hex socket. You could get a ratchet or breaker bar and a metric socket set for the same purpose...
^Do you know what we are talking about? Cause I never have seen a GM lock like that ever that you are talking about. The reason I know what he is doing, and what to do I was the one that had the locks put on the cars on the lot I worked for. So just do what I said first before you use a lug out tool. That would be the next step, but it might damage the wheel.
I didn't know J's came with wheel locks, I thought the OP was mistakenly referring to the tire iron...
Apparently it didn't make much sense to me...
Well it doesn't come with the car from GM, but dealers add them to the cars so people don't steal the wheels. Coming back onto the lot on a Monday I've had 4-5 cars on blocks.
Not much fun if you ask me. Cause we have to get the spares out of 3 other cars for each car. Also you can get them to not have anyone steal you wheels.
You can go to Sears and get a tool that's for removing wheel locks. I have one, it comes with 3 impact sockets. 6 different sizes. You pound it onto the offending lock then use an impact, or a breaker bar or whatever your choice of weapon is, and take it off. However it destroys the lock, so you'll need a new lug nut. Or most tire shops have a set, because most people seem to tend to lose the keys, and they should be able to get them off.
That's why I don't bother with wheel locks. All they do is make it take a little longer for someone to jack your wheels. Especially when you know that anyone can go out and get the tool to take off wheel locks.
^The main thing is that you need an impact to get it off when you have those. It really is hard to use those and not mess up anything. Cause if you don't get them staight when they get hammered when you zip them back off you can mess things up majorly. I've seen it done many of times, and also done it while working at Discount tire.
