i would just like to get some of your guy's opinions on something. My buddy chad hannan ( 97&04cfcavy(now just 04) ) was recently banned from j-body. The reasoning behind this is because of duplicate accounts. He was at work and left the org. up in his office. Some fellow employee's made another account and posted up some bs stuff under his name. He asked the moderators to deleted the thread and they did, but then turned around and banned him from the org. for good. He has done nothing but posted constuctive criticism and helped out when he could. He contacted the moderators explaining what has happened but no response. In my opinion i think is very shady. I do realize it was his fault for leaving it up on his computer but stuff does happen. He appologized and explained what happened, there's really nothing more he can really do. what do you guys think he should do? thanks
Unfirtunately, according to the rules, making a second account is a BIG deal, and the problem was dealt with in the manner described in the rules.
I think due to the circumstances, he may be able to get it reversed since HE was not the one who made the duplicate account. I would advice him to talk to an admin about it, as Dave is very busy, and rarely responds to the Contact link. The admins will not have the power to reinstate his account, but they would be able to get a hold of dave better.
btw, was one of these posts in the racing forum trying to challenge everyone??? I read that one, and he said his account was used, but he was not the one who posted it.
yeah thats completely understandable, rules are rules. However, an appology was givin and circumstances were explained. Yes that was one of the things posted in the racing forum. He is one of the most passive kids i know. i mean we've been best friends for a while now and have been roomates for a year. i was just kinda frustrated because of some of the other drama/ bs that goes on, on this site and nothing is done about it really. that was just my reasoning behind this post.
I understand your reasoning for this post, and i agree it is a sh*tty situation. Hopefully one that will be rectified by allowing him to use his account again.
Like I said before I would have him contact an admin, instead of using the contact us link, although he should also do that.
I will say, rules are bent in the forums, for sure. But i guess since this is labelled as a MAJOR violation, thats why they took the action they did.
Hopefully they can overturn it due to the circumstances. I wish your freind the best of luck. I will agree I never read a post from him that was not on topic and good info.
if zyaaaaaa can get out of a permaban after jacking someones account and going on a dickhead spree, then chad can get unbanned too. i told him i was working on it, but its slow going when youre playing IM/PM tag with dave and the mods. tell him to be patient dammit!
