well, instead of selling the fiero, ive decided to rebuild my love for it, and im now on the lookout for a 2.3 HO, trans, Wiring, ECU, halfshafts, and mounts....if anyones got anything, let me know, i think DTP had a post like this awhile back with 0 luck, but figured id try....
Keith, I'll have some parts for sure soon, as far as a whole motor, it might be a bit before I can do that, I'm using one of my new purchases as a core block for the stroker now, so I can keep driving while to motor is built. and Don want's one as well (you two, I tell ya).
Don is in an easier situation than you, since he can just bolt up and go. so I might just have him wait, ESPECIALLY since you are in more need of a motor than he is wiith the V6 starting to die quickly.
I'm thinkin February/March before the motor is getting done. BUT, I have to look at them both. I want the head off one and need to make sure the block is good on it as well. then we can talk about the other.
Keith could go with a 3400 swap. *hint hint*. For one, it'll be a direct bolt in, would only need to mount it (suggest a new clutch though) Could use the stock wire harness and ECU. If you use 00+ someone on V6z24 sells a chip that will allow you to use your ECU with Multitec 2 injectors. Second, it's one HELL of a lot easier to find a 3100/3400 motor. (seems like the Quad supply is gettin real thin) Third, you can probably aquire one with a couple hundred bucks.
Yes your 2.8 ECU will run the 3400. You'll have to swap the KS to the one for the 2.8 (easy) and the fueling will be a little off on the stock program. 2.8 Injectors will start to lean out real bad as they wont be able to keep up, and 3x00 injectors will be bigger than the ECU is programmed for.... which is why chips are a good idea. (If really necessary, I do have a burner that can burn those PROM's as well)
As for the motor mounts in the Fiero, i'm not sure. But the swap has been done, especially since everything gets swapped into a Fiero, so it shouldnt be real hard to find info on it.

yeah, i actually already had a 3800SCII for the car, but sold it off, cause right no wi dont have the time to dive into that one, i mean its not hard...i did alot of researching it, but its very time consuming...something that right now with full time school, full time work, and trying to plan a wedding, i dont have alot of. so it got sold off awhile back, im a couple years i plan on doing it still, just not right now.
Andy, honestly, Don had first stabs, my 2.8 is doing fine....i just want more
