are you ever near wv? i ask because a company ..www.the-race-shop.com has developed a header for the High Output quad 4..on a dyno it has yeilded a 20 hp gain at the wheels! but it is uncertain if it will fit snugly in a 3rd gen jbody..most of us with HOswaps in our 3rd gens are very excited about this ..however none of us live close enough to go by the shop to give them the measurements needed to gurantee a fit.. would anyone be interested in helping the quad community??
can you explain this a little more? are they giving away a free header to whoever supplies a 2.4? or are they just looking for someone to give them some measurements? will they need the car for awhile, or could someone just stop by for an hour or so?

here is a pic of the header...the header is designed to fit the engine...but as you know the High output didnt come in our CAR ....this header will be for anyone who has a quad in their car OR has an 086 quad head on their twin cam...other than this the only option you have is a custom header that costs $$$$ .. josh will need to take measurements of the bay and POSSIBLY try to fit it in ... as far as time frame im not sure how long it would take..i can check on that..if no one lieves close enough then there is no reason to worry about it but if someone does and they are willing to help with this experiment im sure a few donations can be arranged from those of us who are in need of this header
if you could, get me some more info on this. im from an hour or two south of weirton, but know a few guys with 2.4s in their 3rd gens that might be interested.
just to make sure i got this....ANY 95+ 2.3 or 2.4 jbody will work, right? and the point of this is to make sure the header (designed for the 2.3) will fit into the J, right?
honestly, im not stupid, just a newbie at this sort of stuff. but i would definitely love to help out getting new stuff made for our Js. i plan on swapping out my 2.2 this summer and if i could ever find a decent 2.3 or 2.4 then thats what i want.

thanks so much for even TRYING to help..its greatly appreciated! and yes you got it right..we just need to make sure itll fit in the rear engine bay...we are concerned about the lower subframe and steering rack being in the way...a 2.3 equiped Jbody would be preferable..but im sure a 2.4 would suffice just as well considering i dont think he would need to actually bolt it up to get a measurement..but ill ask him tonight to make sure..and ill ask just how long he HAS to have it ...and now that i think of it this would probably be a good header for a 2.4 if you changed the flange ...but then again if measurements are good he MIGHT be able to start making them him self prefit....thanks again! ill get back with more ingo later tonight!
ok guys ..just talked to josh and he said all he needs is for someone to drop by for a day and have some measurements taken...please! help out if you can!
