ok folks, myself and a freind are looking into tinting our cars, but have a couple questions. what % tint do you have, and what kinda hassles have you had from the cops? i know 28% front and 15% side and rears are legal limit, but im thinkin 20% all around looks best...

20 % is what is on my car and what was put on my fiances focus all around..its nice and dark

knock on wood my GP has 15% or 20% all around. My wifes car has 20% on the front and 5% on the rear for the past 7 years. Been to GA, Canada, TN

I have 15 percent on the front windows , and 5 percent on the rear 3 (coupe). im in north florida and havent had any problems. Paid 160 with a 5 year warranty

thanks for the info and pics folks. i think im gonna go with either 15% or 20% all around, i prefer to keep all the windows the same. ill have to show my buddy the pics. he just got an 07 VW GTI and wants to tint it too. BTW if anyones tossin around gettin one of these cars they are sweet as hell. 200hp 2.0 turbo, lotsa TQ, 6 speed DSG auto. his has the appearance package and 18's as well, very sweet car.

ok, so i finally got around to 2 of the tint shops in my area. one quoted me $125 the other $135, which i thought were good prices. however when i asked them about doing 15% they both said the same thing...cash only, no warranty, no receipt....WTF??????? is that normal????

Buddy of mine runnin with 5% all around,pulled over once but the cop told him to fix it.

yea thats about right, cuz legal is 20sumthin%. But you wont really have to worry about it too much, and that is a good price, is that just for the 5 windows or the front sun stripe too?

legal is 28% front driver and passenger, and like 20% all others, i think. both places were $10 more for the windshield stripe. and yes the prices were for all the side and rear windows.

If you come to tallahassee. Most of the shops around here will put on what ever you want with no problems. Now i think about it my car may have 15% or 5% on it.

i went back to one of the shops and got too look at some samples they had one the front window. they said thier darkest geal package is 30% on the front windows, 15% on the rear and back window. i got to take a look at a caddy in the lot with that package on it too. the difference between the 2 shades is hardly noticable. that package with a lifetime warranty is $129.99, so i made an apointment to have it put on. ill put up some pics in a couple weeks when it gets done and i get some pics taken.
