I know I already posted this in off topic but i thought after I had posted i might get more help here!
My wife just got a job offer in Tampa, so now we need to find a house. We are going down to florida on June 15th, we are driving from Windsor, Canada so it's about a 2 day trip. Since we don't know the area at all, does anyone have any suggestions on locations for houses, where is a good place to live and where we should stay away from. We are looking at the 250,000 to 300,000 dollar price range. Also, I know buying a home in the States is different than buying a home in canada, does anybody have any advice or know of a good mortgage broker. We do have a real estate agent that we are meeting up with but I figure if anybody lives there they might have some other insight as to the area.
thanks
mike
Bonedaddy (Donnie) just bought a house in Spring Hill (and are selling theirs in Wesley Chapel). IMO, I'd talk to him as he was recently in the market and can probably tell you more than most others.
i have my house for sale 3bed 2 bath in valrico east of tampa 30 min 219,500 community pool basketball court, tennis court, baseball field, new home built in 2002, 1293 heated sq feet, tile in baths, 50x121 lot size if interested or need pics let me know at green98cav@yahoo.com
Welcome to Tampa. you will find better prices on houses and land east and north of the tampa area. if you stay close to the city you will pay heavy. if you dont mind a bit of a drive try polk county or pasco county. say away from manattee and srarsota areas...highest home prices in the area.

Thanks, we will have to see what we can get for a mortgage and then go from there, but we were thinking Carrolwood area since that is where my wife will be working. Now it's just up to me to find a job. Any leads? I currently work for a group of radio stations as a network engineer / IT Administrator.
Thanks
Mike
