need help

ok i am rebuilding one of the cavs on my driveway right now got most of the interior done and half wat through the body work, i went to start the car, just my luck lost the key, went to gm had them cut the key(cost me $58), works on the doors but not the ignition, went back to them then cut it again , still no luck, so what do i do, i got a push button start sitting in my tool box, i was thinking of installing that, in stead, put ignition 1 and ignition 2 on flip switches, and hook up the push botton, but first on the ignition switch there are 2 clips about 9-10 different wires, my haynes book does not show me enough for me to identify the wires as to bypass the the key and make it all switches. any one with any ideas, pls let me know, any help would be nice, is there another way for me to get the key to work ?? or how do i take out the ignition cylinder with out having the key in it and turned to the unlocked postion as the haynes book suggests ?? as i dont care about braking it, if i can get it out then i am sure i could figure out the wiring, needs to get the started, a.s.a.p. also any one who can lend a hand getting that going would get a 6pack of there choice !!

just for @!#$s and giggles, the battery and the starter are fine, right? if thats the case the electrical schematics for the ignition should be in the back of the haynes manual.

the key does not turn in the ignition that is the issues, the schematic does not show me enough or i just dont understand it unless there are other wires on those clips for other stuff, like indicators and wipers and stuff, if that is the case then maybe i can figure it out, but i am just not sure which clip it is or what wires on the clip,
