Hey guys--I have a 2002 2dr with the 2200, 5spd, and I'm looking for a donor car or a complete already pulled setup, and I was wondering if any of you knew any places in the Kitchener-Waterloo area, or even the GTA, as to where to go to either get the powertrain for a good price, or a full donor car, looking for an 03+ and I'm 100% willing to pull everything myself. Most of the yards list their ecotechs around $500-800, so just wondering what some of you have to say because apperently some people can get them as cheap as $250!

For your car to do the swap you will need
engine,
Engine wiring harness w computers
Transmission
Radiator
Throttle cable
ecotec upper engine mount.
i think 2200 use the same fuel lines i know with my 2.4 to ecotec swap i had to change the upper fuel lines to the ecotec ones
Shaw's is Located in London thats a hour away from Kitchener
I'm thinking donor car is the best way to go, so none of the harnesses or anything gets hacked (except by me, hah) but I'm just wondering if anyone has actually gone to place, like what you guys are reccomending (Shaw) and asked to purchase a whole car.

^^ the wiring harness does NOT get hacked all you do in unplug the Engine harness its under the back of the Stock air box held together with a 7mm bolt and plug the new one in. do not disconnect the harness from the engine itself that just adds that much MORE work for you to do.
I am in the middle of this Eco Swap right now except mine is a 2.4 5speed to Ecotec 5 speed swap, but yours is the exact same
lol, no, I didn't mean that I was actually going to cut it all up... it's just I don't want the junkyard to literally yank the motor out, and me be stuck there trying to figure out exactly where everything goes w/o being the one who pulls it out, or trying to find certain sensor plugs because they cut them off etc....
