FS: salvage car with many parts
Thursday, May 31, 2007 1:48 PM
Well, Insurance has officially written my car off, so in the next week or two, I will be looking to get rid of it or it's parts. Right now, I am interested in selling it as a whole car, as I don't have a good space to tear it down. If no-one is interested after a couple of weeks, I will look at parting out individual parts.

The parts I will be keeping are the stereo, and the carbon pontiac emblem on the front bumper.

The big parts of interest are:
GM supercharger (LD9 engine)
Quaife LSD
Enkei RS6 Wheels (17") with BFG G-force KDW tires 225-45-17 with lots of tread left
Suspension - Koni yellows, Ground control coilovers, Front adjustable camber plates, Eibach sway bars, F+R strut bars
Stan's 2.4L coated header with custom exhaust and dual magnaflow mufflers
There are many other smaller mods including some that are no longer available
For a complete list of parts, check my registery.

The parts that are not salvageble because of the impact are the Z3 fenders, the front sidemarkers, and the air filter. The upper engine mount may be questionable.

Any serios inquirys, please send me an email and make me an offer.

Thanks for the interest guys, my inbox is filling up with dibs on various parts as well as this thread. I won't be able to get any parts out untill at least June 20th, because that is the soonest I will be able to settle with the insurance company, so until then, technically they own the car.

As I stated in my original post, right now, I am interested in selling the car as a whole, not as parts, just because of logistics. I would be just as happy selling the car to a small group of people who had an interest in different parts and had the means to remove them and get rid of the remains of the car afterwards.

Do you have power windows? If So I'll take the piece that sits in the center console and holds the window switches. If yellows are up for grabs I'll take the whole suspension as well

I think I'm just gonna buy the whole thing, and sort it all out from there.

Stephen, did the insurance company say anything about a salvage contract with anyone? You may not be able to buy it back from them, depending on what their setup is. If you haven't already, I strongly suggest you look into it.

Insurance is pushing the schedule up a llttle faster than they had originally talked about, so I have found a place that I can store and strip the car at when I am back in town. We have come to a tentative settlement (just waiting to sign paperwork), which includes me keeping the car, so no problems there.

I am still entertaining offers on the whole car, just to save me the pain in the but of tearing it down, but now that I have the facilitys to do it myself, I may just go ahead and part it out individually. I will know more next week, once I find out more specific details from the insurance company.

And one last thing for everyone... IT IS TOTALLY WORTH IT TO FIND INSURANCE THAT TAKES CARE OF THE MODIFICATIONS!!!!

Does ur buddy Darren still have that sunfire parts car sittin in his driveway? Saw it when he replaced my headgasket. Anyhow, have you considered rebuilding it? Do a swap and send it off for paint? Should be pretty cheap for you your cousin (I think u said) does body work right?

Anyway just a thought.

The entire car is spoken for.
Thanks for all the interest in the parts, I will forward all the individual requests on to the new owner and I'm sure anything he doesn't want will be available in due time.

Co-operators is the best insurance company I've ever dealt with! also got an employer discount too!

It covers all of my mods, surely gave me a peace of mind!
