Tuesday, April 04, 2006 10:40 PM
so now that im working at standard auto wreckers now i thought id keep my eye on the u pull yard. and this week there are like 20 2ND j bodys out there. quite a few early 90's Z24's
also a sunbird GT vert and some 2.2 models as well.
i thought id put it up in case anyone is looking for parts.

also this weeks special is any engine or tranny for $60 if anyone is interested.

i was also thinking of doing a running post for the weekly specials there if anyone is interested.

i can get one "for my car" at a discount, but theres no way there will be one in the u pull yard. the newest cav ive ever seen in there is a 01 sedan.

Hey SUPERFASSSTZ,

I haven't been to Standard in a while as it's a bit out of the way. Seeing as you are there, what do you think my chances are of finding a full set of 15 or 16" alloys and tires for my 2001 in Cavalier in the UPIC yard? Obviously I know I wouldn't find anything 2001+, but I am curious about 95-99 Z24 rims, Sunfire GT rims, etc.. If you tell me I should get over there, I will head over at lunchtime today but it's about an hr drive. I am not looking for 100% PERFECT wheels, but I don't want badly corroded ones either like I have found at other places.

I also thought about emailing the tire shop there but have been pretty disgusted recently with some other wrecker's pricing on the used rims.. I mean really, $150+ each WITHOUT RUBBER? I would rather go buy a new aftermarket than that.. I just have the steel wheels now and would like to get something a little nicer for my work and back car for the summer.

before the cars hit u pull the wheels, batters and all fluids are removed, so there is no way you find rims out there. and usually rims are one of the first parts sold because too many stupid people hit curbs.

but tazco auto wreckers in Oshawa has a set of 99 Z24 rims for $88 each.

abes auto recycling in bowman ville has a set of 01 sunfire GT wheels for $88.50 each.

they are listed as each but you might get a deal if you buy all four. i can look up other rims too if you want.
hope this helps.

for 90 bucks each I'll buy off e-bay, and they can use thier rims as supositories.
