Hey guys i want to do the final touch on my interior and have a few questions that need to be answered.
1. i want a bar welded from one side of where the seatbeats bolt into to the other side of where they are bolted into. If n e one knows where i can get this done please let me know asap.
2. I am doing the above so that i can put racing harnesses in. Can someone point me in the right direction to afforable seats (blue/black) and harnesses (blue)
Thanks guys for your time

Are you putting in a roll cage as well? Note that racing harnesses can do more harm than good in a rollover if you don't have a proper cage in place.
No not a rool cage just a bar across
I think the harness should be good with that bar because its gonna be secured to where the stock seat belts are secured to
^ but....if you mount it directly across where the stock seat belts bolt up to that will cause more damage to you and put you into alot of risk if your even in a crash...your seat belts will be angled at 100+ degrees...this is a huge NO NO...if anything you'd want a bar that is directly behind you at 90 degress...or a roll cage...a roll cage would be the best bet however!
think he's just looking for something like this
big no-no without a cage, it can be done but not only does it not look all that great the function isnt their either. they make a special seat with floor mount harness's abut i do not reccomentd those either.

Should have a roll cage as well if you want to use the racing harness. The normal seat belts are designed to move you to the middle of the car in an accident (if you roll the roof would collapse)..a racing harness will hold you in the one spot and in the event of a roll over you would be hurt more

Exactly. Harnesses are dangerous without a roll cage. You DO NOT want to be held upright in position in the event of a rollover or you're going to get your neck snapped.
i had my racin seats sittin in my garage since last summer still in plastic to this day ..... never got off my lazy ass to make mountin brackets =P
well after readin all these posts..... yah i got a pair of BRAND NEW never used 4 point harnesses for sale now...

the people offering to install it arent to bright either, if the person gets injured, the installer is liable, no matter how good of a disclaimer they have............AND not to many people know how to properly install harnesses, full cage is a must as stated by other people, but the shoulder harness must be mounted level with you're shoulders or a maximum of 4" below you're shoulder line, or MAJOR back injuries can occure in a collision, and the lap belts must be mounted at a 45 degree angle pulling across the hips or more MAJOR injuries will occure, lots of people think they look "cool" but i build race cars, and drive race cars where they have to be installed properly and i have heard about/seen what an improperly mounted harness system can do

Roll cage in your car = insurance dropping you instantly... (in ontario)
Welded racing buckles harness bar = very unsafe without proper angles, and attachements, as well as a roll cage. IF your car is street legal, no roll cage or you have no insurance... IF YOU DON'T RACE ON THE TRACK EVERY WEEKEND.. YOUR A @!#$ MORON FOR WANTING A ROLL CAGE. Street cars DO NOT need a roll cage. Most of the time if you get in a accident, it will take longer for them to get you out, making your chances of surviving in a severe crash, less. Is a roll cage really worth loosing your life for? Doubtfull. Also factor in that driving around with a roll cage and harness just draws more attention to the police, getting you pulled over more often and hassled more often. And if the cops are smart enough, they will impound your car on the spot, and contact your insurance company. Why bother.
If you don't race your car, you literally look like a tool, more so then normal, if you put a harness and cage, or one or the other in your car. When people ask you if you race your car, do you feel like getting laughed at EVERY time you say you don't race you spent all that money (cage and harness good ones, total cost around $800-1000) for nothing... Yep.. they are all goin to laugh at you.
