Hey guys, so I have a 96 Sunfire GT I bought about a month ago to join my Cavalier.

Last week I graduated college and moved from Phoenix to SE Minnesota. This morning I took my little sisters to school when I noticed a rod knock start, then my 2nd gear went out.

I need to find a new engine and trans to put in my car so I can get it back on the road.

You can find them at salvage yards sometimes for a few hundred bucks... but as crappy as these things are... if you can afford the $1200 for a new / rebuilt one, your better off.

A rebuild kit for the Izuzu 5-speed is a couple of hundred dollars... and if you have the know how and tools, its by far the cheapest way to do it, that is unless your slave cylinder is broken also.. then it gets iffy..
