Up for sale is my red 2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250r. I purchased this bike brand new in April 2008 from Sport Motors in Eau Claire, WI. It has been a great bike to me with absolutely no problems at all. The only reason I am selling it is so I can upgrade to a bigger bike. I followed the break-in period, so there are no worries there. I changed the oil at 300 miles, and again at 3,000 miles. I used semi-synthetic Lucas oil along with Wix filters. It has 4,000 miles on it as of now. The bike has never been dumped. However, it was tipped over in my driveway by someone overnight. It fell on the right side, and cracked the right fairing around the turn signal, and a few inches along it. It isn’t noticeable from a distance. The signal light is still well attached. It could easily be repaired from behind with fiberglass to reinforce it. Other than that, there is no damage to the bike whatsoever. The tires are in good shape, and the chain has been maintained as well. It has been very dependable and is a joy to ride. The factory warranty is still good through April of ’09. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact me. I will get more pictures of it upon request.
I am asking $3,500 for it. Included in the deal is a Cortech textile jacket (size large, red) along with a pair of nice Cortech gloves (red). These are both in excellent shape. If you are seriously interested in it, make me an offer.

Im actually in the market for a bike like this, but insurance would kill me just because its a ninja. Do you have any more pictures? Could you PM me on how low you would go?

Insurance company's know this is a beginner bike. They take into acount the CC of the engine more so then the model. This bike really would not be as bad to insure as you think. If you did not have to get a loan you could go with only liability which would be dirt cheap.

I can get more pictures this weekend. I'm away at college and have it stored at my parent's house about an hour and a half away. Insurance really isn't that bad. I think I paid around $200 for the whole year.

I think if one has a life insurance policy the insurance on a bike shouldn't be much at all. really the only thing i can see them worried about is having to pay the death clause. granted there could be damage to other motorists or property but you can limit those amounts...
Are you scared of the changes coming? The answer is on the inside.
Time for a big boy bike, eh?

Yup! It was a great bike to learn on, that's for sure. I'm glad I didn't start off on a bigger bike. This is much more forgiving. However, it is time for something faster. I'm picking up an '07 Honda CBR 600RR Pearl White within the next week hopefully.

My buddy has a black '07 RR, he really wanted the pearl white but it came down to ride the black one home today, wait for the white to come in on order in a week or two. Black was decided.
Great choice on a bike.
the 250's are nice bikes. we have an 07. (wish we would of waited for the 08's though) insurance is like $23 a month i think for full coverage

Yeah, insurance is definitely cheap on the 250. And it has really been a great bike for me. Someone help me out and buy this!

not trying to sound like an a$$ but arent they 3500 new? Are there a lot of dealer mark ups or something?
That's correct, MSRP was $3500. However, since it was completely redesigned from 2006, there was an extreme shortage of them. Every single dealer had them priced over $4000. I paid $4200 out the door. That's cheap compared to other people. I saw them selling new for as high as $6000 in some areas. Guaranteed the same thing will happen with 2009 models. Word on the street is that there is another shortage of them. Plus, I am including the jacket and gloves, worth over $200. If you are interested, make me an offer. I'm open to some negotiation.

Damn, $6K for a 250?! I think I paid around 9 for the 05 636 I used to have... I miss the speed, but my back certainly likes not having a rocket anymore.
Good luck with the sale though
Where did u get 6K from?
*edit* Nevermind I see where you got it from :-)

You're a couple hours too late :-( I just spoke with someone who is going to come this Sunday to pick it up. If for some reason they back out, I'll get a hold of you. Thanks for the interest!

Go straight for the ninja 650. Still has seating like the 250 (not real leaned over) and a very mild temperment easy for a beginner unless you crack the throttle all the way and establish dominance.
