Well a friend of mine is going there right now and graduates this month. he stayed in an apartment off campus doesnt party, guess thats why he is in the top of his accounting classes. but best advice to give you is to study hard and dont party. it may be fun but just think how much you payed to go there. Like i said its all gonna be how you make it and for what your paying i would use it wisely. great accounting college though and nice campus. if you want let me know and i can talk to him if your looking for specific pointers about the school.

im at school right now, not NIU, im a Millikin, the only advise I have to tell ya is save the partying for friday and saturday night. You drink anyother night of the week and you'll regret it and your grades will show it.....believe me, mine did.

Me too partied there many times, great time. Don't count on big bar parties though theres only a few there. Most parties are house parties or fraternity parties. Still a great time

The beginning and end of the year parties are the best... Once it gets cold out the parties die down a little but then you go to the bars.

Like everyone said, NIU is a party college really, actually DeKalb is a party town, full of drunks, its not a bad place though.

I like NIU alot, I am a Graduate student there, and Im enjoying my classes and my job.

It has a really nice business school, and Barsema hall is like 2 years old and its really nice.

The business school is nationally ranked, and you will get a good education.

Parties, well there pretty good. You have to learn how to become productive and more effcient at doing work, studying, etc. Then you can spend most of your weekend boozing, and still doing well academically.

If your worried about money, get a job in one of the departments on campus. I work about 15 hrs a week and I get a huge education fee waiver. The school pays for 95% of my education.

Plus you get paid as well.

Gotta love getting paid to go to grad school .
