I thought then you have to show recipts totalling at least $500 towards emission related parts. Not positive though.

Matt is right except I believe its $600 in emsion related repairs in order to get a waiver, but if you don't go/pass for long enough they suspend you plates and eventually your liscnce

WELL if it OBDII they scan it for and current and history codes......OBDI the run on the dyno.....i would really worry about it at all...If you have OBDII and had have no engien lights in the past i wouldnt worry about it then........i thought it was like 400 you have to spend in order to get the waiver.....but it might have changed.....

Phil is right, one thing he didn't get real specific with though is the...

"If you have OBDII and had have no engien lights in the past i wouldnt worry about it then"

this is because they don't just scan for faults they check the rediness monitors, so if your CEL is on and you clear it before you go you will still fail, you have to no faults and the rediness monitors set, there are procuders to set it and it can set itself but it takes a while. CHnaces are if you have a problem with the CEL coming on it will come back as soon as the rediness monitor for that system tests

I recently had my emissions taken, they scanned mine.

fix the o2 sensor, its soo simple. For the misfire I'd start with replacing spark plugs/spark plug wires, or at least for cylinder 3. It's like 10 minutes of work and you should pass... unless there is more
