What are you guys using when installing new pistons and crank bearings? I have the white auto store assembly lube from when I did my cams, and I have a bottle of the GM EOS assembly lubricant (PN 1052367) on hand. Will one of these be sufficient for the job at hand? I don't want to spend extra on something that I can already use, but at the same time don't want to mess things up after all the hard work.

I've used a couple different things when putting motors together. When doing a stock rebuild that will go directly into the car the.same day or within a couple days I've had good luck just using Stephens motor honey. Its thick enough to fully coat and not run out like motor oil will. I've used the Lucas assembly lube on the last 3 motors I did with no issues. Its always fun changing the green oil the first few oil changes.

On my current build I used a recommendation from my machinist, lubriplate 105. He's been using it for years on high HP builds with issues.

I've used Lubriplate 105 for quite a while, and have also recently started using Amsoil assembly lube

We use mel lube from meling. Lucas will work fine. I dont like useing white grease on beariqings but even if you did it would probably be fine. Only other things i can think of right now is always use moly on flat tappet cams and put oil on certain lip seals.
