All I use! If you want high rpm power, get a straight pipe. Low to mid, use a hi flow cat. Personally, if I don't need it I would get a straight pipe.
"FRIENDS DON'T LET FRIENDS DRIVE STOCK"
My friend had a clogged cat on his cav few years ago and replaced it with a universal mangaflow cat and it worked great. If you need a cat for emissions or so you dont throw a code, I would only use magnaflow

Overpriced ubderpreformer. Several members here have had issues with their magnaflows. Those of us with the thunderbolt spun cat have never had an issue and paid (roughly) 40% the cost.

...you want a pic, then help me build something worth taking a pic of....
My 2.5" Magnaflow has worked fine for the past 5 years....and I've spit plenty of carbon through it when laying down base tunes on two separate occasions.
I have no signiture
I have had three fail on me. One melted about half teh honeycomb, another broke up and went out the tail pipe for the most part, and the third fell apart and plugged itself up. I wont buy another Magnaflow cat. ever again unless I have no other option.

I'm on the same boat as him, but I had mine for about 6 years and I'm running a GM S/C with their tune and at WOT it spits out a little black smoke. No CEL, no rattling, and no chunks has came out either. I just bought another Magnaflow cat as I'm going with a new exhaust set up and had a good experience with their cats.

I love my SLP high flow, its for a Corvette if you look it up. About $100 everywhere I've seen it, got mine on scratch and dent from summit for $60. :p no issues no cel sounds smooth and deep
My family has had a exhaust shop for over 25 years and magnaflow cats are all we use best made and not cheap crap like most that are on the marketplace. As for melting out and blowing out if your car has a defect it won't stop that as a cat is murdered and doesnt fail on its own, i had a EGR problem in my S10 which killed my cat and a faulty O2 sensor in my sunfire causing the cat to melt.
i ordered the thunderbolt 2 1/4" with the o2 sensor bung from performance curve running it from the old cat position back and have never thrown a code.......
