okay just put an exhaust on a week ago. kinda frankensteined her with an srs catback and a magnaflow from header to the srs including magnaflow high flow cat and now it sounds kinda sh!tty!! there are no exhaust leaks at all period and my install is very good, but now it seems like at idle it sounds cr@ppy. standing at the back by the muffler you pretty much just hear air comin out like pff pff instead of a nice deep tone. i am pretty much certgain it didnt sound like this before. my car idles at 750-1000 rpm should i raise idle speed? is it the mufler internals coming apart? have heard of this happening with ebay mufflers or is that really just how it is?? just spent 600 $$ please tell me it is the muffler or something
From the sounds of it, it's the muffler from working at a exhaust shop for 10+ years i can tell you the muffler dictates the sound, and thats why flowmaster and magnaflow charge what they do. Cause the amount of time and money that goes into engineering the product to make the right sound. This is why spend more money and get quality.
it currently has the srs muffler which came welded to the srs catback assembly, it could be louder asnd a bit deeper but overall i am okay with the sound its just at idle when you stand near the muffler or back of the car you just kinda hear like a pffft pfft pffft sound as the exhaust comes out if you are in the car or at the front it souns alright but i really hate that it sounds that way back there
ok at a cold start it souns decent but when it is idling at operating temp it sounds as earlier described so i am gussin maybe i hhave a different problem??

Heh, what did you do with the O2 sensor that's behind the cat? The difference when it's cold and warmed up is open/closed loop, so it makes me wanna think it's an O2 sensor, and if you're running it from the header back, i'm forced to ask what happened to the O2 sensor that goes behind the cat.
i find it amusing that SHOoff has nothing better to do but follow me around & be an unhelpful dick in even cross-forum. - Jon Mick
no i put that back in right behind the cat where it is supposed to go left it loose by accident at first(got excited to hear the new exhaust and forgot) but it is in there and tight now wtf so confused
