ive been looking for a vacumm line on my intake manifold and i cant find where its at..can someone show me a diagram or explain where its at
what motor?
which vacuum line... each motor has several lines?
its the 2.2l ecotec..ive been told theres one on the intake manifold and im triying to find it so i can hook my vacumm gauge up to it
look at the throttle body, there should be a small line coming off of it...
yeah i tried that it didnt give it a reading and neither did the bigger line on the passenger side of the motor off the throttle body and the lines not pinched either
something might be wrong with your gauge then... because it should get a reading from there...
thats what i was guessing but glowshift said that nothing goes wrong with them because its a mechanical gauge so should i get different line and run it to the smaller line to see if it works or would the bigger line be better?
i ran my faze gauge to the smallest line
my AEM gauge has its own MAP sensor though... which is still ran from the smallest vaccum line
alright..so i should hook it to the line thats by the throttle cable on the drive side
not sure on the eco... i know my 2.4 tb had one small, one medium, and one large line... small was a general vaccum line, medium went to the Evap and was only vaccum on demand, and the large one is the break booster
oh alright but do you know of a line on the intake manifold and where about its at?
my stock 2.4 intake mani had two lines coming off... one to the stock map sensor, the other to the fuel pressure regulator... if you tap either of these make sure you ensure that the line cannot come separated, because both need vaccum to run right...
the small vaccumline off the tb supplies vaccum to your HVAC, which is not necessary for the motor if it came undone
so pretty much stay away from those two lines and stick to having it on the throttle body then? well now i can experiment with it tomorrow and see what goes on..if all else fails i guess ill get back on here
im sure the eco guys will hop on through out the day tomorrow and give more info...
To find the vac line port just follow the FPR vac line down to the intake and next to it there is a spare vac port with a vac cap on it ..
hope this helps good luck..
