ok so heres the thing i own a 91 calais 2.3 H.O. and my girl ows a 02 cavi 2200 what can i do to make this car fast???????? sorry guys ive drove it and it is dirt slow to my LG0 can ya give me a hand so i dont lose her????
swap the LGO in the cavalier ... =P
seriously though, you need to gain about 100 HP (well a little less) to catch up with the HO motor. If you keep the LN2, talk to OHV_Notec or some of the other 2200 builders here for advice on how to turbo and tune the motor for gains.... if you want to do a motor swap, go with the 2000 + LD9 or the eco ... both are comparable engines and are easily modded... (i'd suggest the LD9 as its the latest quad engine, and i'd assume you have quad motor experience, owning the HO and all)
I will give you another 2200 so you can go the same speed. just drop that engine off for me and I'll include a ham sammich.
well give away mang i could use the extra stuff but yea so far ive told her about the ld2 ( being the quad motor is the best over the eco tshc sorry guys but its true) but were on a budget and looking to build this thing so yea price is an issue

WRONG!!! Eco
>Quad4!!!
But anyways, the only thing you'll be able to do to the 2200 to beat the Quad is boost or N2O. Like you said, since price is an issue, you'll NEVER make a N/A 2200 beat a HO 2.3 unless you figure on dropping a few grand into it at the very minimum. And if the 2200 is an auto, forget it until you swap in a 5-speed

you sir are wrong quad4>ecotec
but yea its is atleast a 5-speed but shes not worried about beating my car more the inport crowd, ford and dodge so yea im talking her into just buying another motor for me to build for her and was wondering what things i could do to not time this thing by the sun dial lol
please dont open up Pandora's box with the ld9 vs eco, there should be a forum on that
Boost+bolt-ons. Underdrive crank pulley, lightweight flywheel, and stage 3 clutch. Then either turbo or nitrous.

anywere to get these bolt ons good websites ect.
also safe levles of boost for this thing she does want to boost it but idk want t run in it for her
Ive heard it discussed that 2.3s will run on a 2.4 PCM and sensors or is this just speculation?
I agree lgo is better, but his concern is the 2200, so as mentioned, I would be gracious enough to level the playing field between his girlfriend and him. actually I will man up to the plate here.
My offer: my ld9 for your lg0. and as a kicker since I happen to be such a nice guy, I will throw you a no2 bottle for the beginnings of your kit in exchange for a ham sammich.

lmao no trade for my LG0 just need her to stay in my rear view a lil better and eat hondas but yea for it so far we got WAI, accel wire set, and a flowmaster. plans are header, high flow cat, cat back (2 1/4 in size). she wants me to build her a motor but WHERE IN THE HELL CAN I FIND pistons, rods, cam, push rods, good rockers, and ect.

if you cant find parts for the 2200 then what does that tell you?
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!

Anywhere from 5-20 psi depending on the turbo and your tuning capabilities.
However, if you want to boost it, you're just wasting money on all those bolt-ons...

Try the "search" box
It's all out there, regardless of what the DOHC guys here think...
fortune cookie say: better a delay than a disaster
some parts are available for the OHV and not the LD9 or quad....
like hahn turbo kits and patriot ported heads for example... which is just retarded IMO.
Anything worth doing is worth over doing.
Bill Hahn Jr has no Quad love.... shame... he could make some money if he did...
