I have seen quite a few people express an interest in an OS crank pulley for their supercharged 2.4s. If I can get enough support in this thread, then it may become an option for us.
Basically I want to know who would buy one and any input you have on them if Mike (MD) was to go through and produce them.
For those of you that dont know, an OS crank pulley would increase your boost without changing your charger pulley. It would also overdrive the other accesories on the engine as well.
id take one. dont need it but i like seeing new products made.
and who knows... ten, thirty years down the road, maybe some hot supercharger will blow my car.
I'm interested.... DD needs more power!

How much over driven would you guys like it?
Percentage over driven?

Good luck with this. A lot of people "SAID" that they wanted this, but I was only able to get 5 people when I did the GP 3 or 4 years ago

Racetech's were about 10% overdrive. I was seeing 7-8 psi with the pulley and a ported SC

i agree. i dont understand how some of the mods for the LD9 work but sometimes you really need to just say screw it and try things everybody says wont work to get results.
what do i mean? everybody says the M45 is only supposed to spin a certain RPM, and ones who use the OS crank pulley are doing such yet people that use the over sized crank pulley AND the smaller s/c pulley are the ones with the fastest cars. hmmmm, i wonder why?
people say 3" exhaust is too large for n/a... yet the LD9 loves it. people say 75mm tb's are too large for N/A and hell even turbos... yet the LD9 loves them.
see what i mean?
think outside the ecotec (oops, i meant box
)
10% overdrive is exactly what i want
if they were available right now it would already be ordered.
todd (azspitfire) has one on his car, plus the smaller s/c pulley, and of course he has karo's old motor.....
MD, make this asap so my car doesnt look so @!#$ty next to his everytime we have a meet

I had a feeler for a 10% over sized one and when it was time to put up or shut up.....all that was left were crickets.

Best post ever, period.
I know for a fact Id still be sc'd if these were available a while back, as well as the m62 ld9 manifold. People must not like doing mods that for sure help performance
I plan to spin the @!#$ out of my M45, plus it will be getting ported soon.

The OS crank and 2.6 charger was fun.... never ran it like that.. but it was a blast.

Throw some fuel in there and your good to go. People talk of maxing out the m45, but Ive yet to see someone have problems. I only had problems with mine after spraying wet nitrous through it, the fuel damaged the bearings. I believe Clyde ran a 2.4 pulley, not sure if he had an os crank as well.
i really wanted wade to try the oversized crank pulley out with his set-up but i could never convince him to. he was very adament about his feelings towards the use of one. he absolutely would not have it. oh well
id like to think with an OS crank pulley and a 3" exhaust that car would have spanked the 230whp 'limit' of the m45. and it had dished pistons and secret cams. imagine with domed pistons and ho cams!!! might have actually hit 275whp with a dyno tune. we'll never know, sadly.
Glad to see all the talk in this thread. I hope this keeps up and Mike can get these going. The OS crank pulley is one of my most hoped for mods for my twin cam.
I WANT 1 I WANT 1
P.S.
I REALY do NEED it a promise
A pic of a DO_ABLE pulley set up.. OS with a 2.6
The crank pulley actually hit a timing cover bolt... it was large.. but clearances itself.

Its posted in the performance forum because thats where Mike told me to post it. It could also be put in the electronics forum considering it will spin your alternator faster too.
Just a note for anybody doubting quality or Mike's reputation, just look around jbo. His products are everywhere and they are top notch. These pulleys undoubtedly would be the same. You should also see benefit from them being aluminum with less weight than stock.
so how many people do we need to get a GP going// what are you looking at ballpark for pricing?
