it's easier for us to give you facts if we know what your working with, and with the profile, you only have to type the information once, instead of once per post.

Im a fan of the isuzus, beat the crap out of my old one with my 3100 and its still going strong 2 owners later.

On a side note I am switching to a getrag for my next swap just for a change.

the isuzus are hard to find, and they dont make them anymore, which is why most like getrags, but honestly, they're not the devil like most people make them out to be, mines taken a HUGE beating, and actualy lived through a week of shifting with no clutch, and now it still works great

Isuzu pretty much has made nothing but trucks so I would figure them to be pretty sturdy...but I don't really have any personal experience or anything so I'm just pretty much thinking out loud

You people need to learn the difference between an Isuzu transmission. And an Isuzu transmission that GM got ahold of. World of difference.

Mine came straight from Japan (two days, should have overnighted it) in an Isuzu crate. I couldnt be happier. I know that the ones in Isuzu cars are better but I still have had no non-self induced issues with mine.

I assume that by overnighting it from Japan that means that it doesn't get delivered to you. But you have to go pick all the parts up, and have everything stacked way higher than the cab in the back of your F150 Lightning?

Yep, instead of dropping it off at my local performance shop it was delivered to a Chevy dealer a block away from the Pontiac dealer i worked at. I didnt have enough parts to justify the Ford so I borrowed my dads Vue.

All I could think of when it showed up two days after i ordered it was that stupid ass line from the movie.

My isuzu in my '98 Z took about 15k miles on a spec stage III clutch, and the diff let out. Total miles on the car are now 70k. Serviced it at 50k miles with GM's expensive ass fluid even.

That's why I have a NVT550 in it now, even if the guy on ebay screwed me and sold me a *new* one from a european minivan that I had to custom fab mounts for. Those old getrags are just plain better.

22 miles per gallon and dropping fast...
