I blew the motor in my 89 sunbird, and the only thing I can find around here is a 2.0 with a turbo. I run a 4cyl class at a paved oval and turbo's are not allowed. Can I use the motor and just change the intake or head and make it work? What else will i need to change over if I swap the motor over to my car, orI could I possibly turn the turbo car into a na car and put my cage and safety equip into it? All I've found was putting turbo's onto motors not taking them off Thanks for any info.
Overall I think you'll make less power with the turbo engine. The cam is larger but the forged pistons are built for lower compression. It'll get you through a few races 'till you find something else.
Better off, find the 92-94 PFI engine. You can install the distributor and TBI intake and run it with the TBI ecm. Compression is higher and cam is larger than the TBI engine. It won't hurt to increase fuel presssure slightly, too.

would a turbo cam work better than the mpfi cam in this instance? i have an engine coming, i honestly do not know if its a tbi or mpfi though...thanks for the info
MPFI and turbo cam have same lift. I have never found cam timing specs but I've seen rumors the turbo cam has slightly different duration.
