hey guy
i own a 96 sunfire 2.2 and there a few months ago i added a magnaflow muffler and a magnaflow high flow cat and had a muffler shop install it for and and i dunno why but the car sounds totally bad . i figure for the price i pay for that stuff , would as least sound pretty good. the car sounds half quiet but very raspy and was thinking of taking off the cat and adding a cherry bomb resanator in place of the cat .. my question is will it sound alot better and louder? or will it sound alot worst? i am looking for a deep, loud ahound . sorry for the dumb questions
(i have no clue about exhaust on cars)
you need a resonator AND a cat to get it quiet and non raspy. stock downpipe? exhaust manifold? pipe from cat to muffler? size of cat and muffler?

yes
stock pipeing
stock downpipe
manifold is stock for now
magnaflow high flow cat
magnaflow muffler (polished)
no resanator
i dont want it quiet . need it to be deepand half loud
that is your problem, the header is restrictive, the piping is even worst, if you want it to sound better buy the cat-back, and resonator is mainly to get rid of the raspy sound that causes the exhaust to sound like crap, so just go pacesetter header, magnaflow cat, res, cat-back piping, and then muffler and you will be happy, but the most common mufflers considered to sound good are the megan, vibrant adn the flowmaster mufflers.

i know i do need a catback and my header put on but you never answered my question
if i take off the cat and add a resanator in place of it ... will it be alot deeper ? and louder?
okay now i got it ... well i have another question then .. will a cav/sunfire 2.4 cat-back fit on a cav/sunfire 2.2?
so it will bolt right up ?
