hey guys i have a 96 2.2 with a 3-spd auto. in it, i am being told rk sport sells an interceptor or something that adjust shift point for the automatic, i can't find squat on anything of the sort???? anybody got any ideas ???
they dont make one for a 3 speed auto
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
Yeah, in a world where newer models have 5- & 6-speed atuomatics standard, and the prefered auto was 4-spd in somewhat older models, you're kinda screwed. Plus (IIRC), the 3T40 is an all-mech trans (That means: All-mechanical shifting control, no electronics except for VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) & TCC (Torque-convertor Clutch Control)). There are mods that can be done to it, but darned if I know what exactly & how. Find a trans-builder who's familiar with older "mech" slushboxes, and they should be able to help you.
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
lol,i'm kinda damned if i do and if i don't !!!! i had 05 dodge neon and it was the complete opposite..everything was on the computer and you couldn't do anything to it except buy a new one for about $3500. i have access to a 98 cav. i've been pulling parts off of had the 2.4 -5 speed in it... how hard is it to pull the conversion on it?? we did one on a bmw a couple of weeks ago thats wasn't too bad, i'm not sure if the motors any good, but if he's still got the tranny??????
not really damned if you dont, man. your car would still be amazingly slow with an interceptor installed, if it was possible i mean.
do what you want, swap the 2.4/ 5speed in.
it would probably be better, considering the 2.2 i have is a plain-jane oldie! it still runs descent with 193k on it but is def. lacking on gusto! and i really don't think that model of engine is worth sinking money into.
