swapping to a 97"+ ecu harness

Ok i did the 2.3 ho intake mani. swap on my 96"2.4 and now i need to upgrade to a 97+ ecu so i can use hp tuners to get rid of the check engine line code for the egr. I have a 99" ecu right now if i was to swap that in to my 96" z24 would i have to change the knock sensor or any other sensor to accomadate the 99" ecu or would i be better off useing a 97"-98" ecu with that harness? I was told i could repin my ecu but i dont want to mess up anything so if theres any one in the Waukesha,WI area that would give me a hand please let me know.

you havent looked hard enough. its been 2 @!#$ days since youve asked your question and this is the first time ive seen it.

heres some info:

http://www.j-body.org/faq//146/

Quote:

97-98 Model Year
*Oil passages and water-pump problems lessen
*Large starter
*One wire front O2 sensor
*Low impedance injectors
*EGR valve
*Dished pistons
*9.5:1 CR
*Large knock sensor
*Head Casting number is 683-18

99 model year
*Smaller starter
*One wire first O2 sensor
*High impedance injectors
*No EGR valve
*Flat top pistons
*9.7:1 CR
*Better intake manifold design. Doesn’t have flange on the inside plenum like 00-02 years.
*New oiling passages
*Small knock sensor
*Head casting number is 779
*New style water-pump

its not hard to swap the knock sensors around if you need to, but if the plugs are the same then you shouldnt need to swap sensors at all.

That's the perfect way to get your question answered...

BTW, sigs have nothing to do with the amount of time it takes to get a question answered. It depends on who sees the topic and who cares to answer.
