Torque

Ok I run a 1/4 mile circle track... Driving a 94' Cavalier 2.2 motor.... We run 15 laps.... The only modification is a performance chip from fast chips which has made an incredible difference... My problem starts when the race first starts. I am assuming the car is still cold as we only make about 5 slow pace laps. When the race starts, I have massive torque but I hit the rev limiter way too early... Ok when the car warms up or gets about 5 laps into it, I lose that massive torque but do not hit the rev limiter at all... I know the chip bumps up the rev limiter, so I could let the car idle and heat up before the race but the fact that I would lose that great torque would be a big loss... Any suggestions???

It's just transitioning from open-loop (During warm-up) to closed-loop (Full-temperature operation). Lord knows my LN2 loses power when it runs hot. Have you tried running a cooler thermostat?

the cooler thermostat isn't going to do any thing for you once you have it fully warmed up.. tried it just because i needed a new thermostat at the time and going from 180 stock to 160 literally did nothing.

Many of the older chips required a lower temprature thermostat, including some of the chips by FAST. This may be the case with this chip.

Not to mention how the cooling fan "Switch-on" programing may have been ignored by the programer, and it still switch's on at the factory programed temp. But somehow I doubt that.
