Going to the U.K for a month. Any ECOTEC parts I should look into getting there?

Hey,

This might be a silly question and perhaps should do some research first. However, I do spend a lot of time in England and was wondering if there are certain engine parts I could buy there that I can use for my ECOTEC. I know they have varied ecotec engines there.
I did just install Stage 3 cams and its got me thinking maybe I should upgrade more engine parts. So do any of you guys know of anything I could use if I find it out there?

Thanks

The European Ecotec is not the same as our Ecotec.

Hypsy, where did you get your AEM Overdriven and Lightweight Alternator Pulley? Didn't think we could buy those for our cars from anyone. Just checked the AEM website, not available. Can you tell me please?

P.S--Nice engine mods man!

the Opel/Vauxhall Z22SE engine is the same as our ecotec engine. but there is no parts that im aware of (other than a really expensive ITB setup) that are worth getting while over there. this is the only varient that i know of that is exactly like ours. (with the exception of RHD stuff ect in the UK)

hypsy is refferring to older ecotecs which are iron block/aluminum head and completley different from our eco's.

there was 1 company in europe who made a bunch of different cam grinds for the ecotec that would work, but I can no longer remember the name of the manufacturer and we have cams here now

Thought the euro eco's were 10.5:1 compression? Could be wrong tho.

RK Sport crank pulley
AEM alternator pulley

Pulley was designed for the LD9 engine and had to be machined a little to work right. The hub that met with the alternator was to thick so we ground it a little thinner and it was good to go.

What? Why?
I have personally put a AEM Alternator pulley on a L61. This could only be a problem if you had a VERY old first design AEM pulley, but they haven't made them in years.

The AEM alternator pulley will fit, LD9, LD2, LN2, L61, and LE5 motors.

Also the alternators over there are higher output, and our alternator pulley will not fit there alternator.

Mine is one of the original pulleys I believe. The previous owner had it for like 3 years before I got it. When we went to install it it was hitting on the body of the alternator so we just trimmed it some. No harm, no foul. Works perfect over 1K RPM which is my new idle.
