See CA stainless header V2
Click on headers and scroll down to the second one. What do you guys think? The price is very reasonable and it looks like a bolt on shorty. I have a CTI 2.5" catback coming in today and a magnaflow 2.5" in/out high flow cat and dynomax super turbo 2.5" in/out muffler waiting. The biggest pain in the ass about our system is the damn downpipe. What is the diameter, like 2"? Being that I'm replacing the cat, I guess it's not so bad to have this bit of small diameter pipe since it will open up just before the cat. I guess if i do not learn to weld im at the mercy of the local exhaust shop to fab a 2.5" DP.
I'll get pics of yummy parts and install after its all done
Anyway let me know what you think of the header, thanks!
I would just get the pacesetter lsj and have a shop fab up a 2.5" downpipe to go with your cat. Does that header bolt up to the factory downpipe on a j-body?
And your gona want some sort of a resonator

And lemme know if your cti catback is 2 or 3 piece.

I read that the L61 manifolds on the cobalt and the cavalier are the same - the factory exhaust manifolds are interchangable, therefor a shorty that fits a cobalt L61 should fit a cav L61.
I'll be running the dynomax super turbo, so i'm not extremely worried about having a resonator - it should be fairly quiet right?
I'll let you know about the CTI cat back as soon as I get home
Also what do you all think about the 1.75" primaries on an N/A car?
Any kind of superturbo muffler will be much than most others, but a resonator will take away alot of the rasp that comes from a header.
I have my 2.5" cti piping, catco cat, and dynomax bullet muffler sitting here next to me...just waiting on my superturbo to get here
Yes the CTI cat back came in three pieces - the over-axel that attaches to the muffler, the piece behind that and a piece of straight. I'm glad it's flanged though, so it will be easily clamped together after hanging/fitment.
Is there a such thing as a 2.5" to 1 7/8" ID reducer?
Pics soon!

careful cobalt addiction TAKES FOREVER!!!!
Try ZZP
Thats good to know. ZZP is more expensive for the equivalent part though...maybe pacesetter from TTR is best after all. I'll make the decision later i guess.
Pile of parts:
Always happy to get a brown box

I don't know whats up with the green stuff on the straigh piece

Its cool that the pieces are flared on one end for easy install.
mmmm.. the good old build days..
So where are you getting a resonator from?
I'm kind of jealous.. wish i would have thought about putting after market cobalt SS headers..
