ok guys as stated i was wondering if anyone has a rksport ss hood w/ the function ram air w/ a intake? or would i just need to make some sort of box so i could still get the ram air function?thanks for any help guys as always much appreciated
to be honest the aerodynamics of the car is going to make it pretty much impossible for it to actually "ram air" into the hood. Its to small of a scoop and in a low pressure area, its pretty much a lost casue your better off running a cone filter to the foglight opening.
but...
basically what you would have to do is leave the stock air box in it, cut a hole in the box where a shirt ram intake would go into it. So it like a short ram intake with cone filter and the end of the pipe IN the air box, and seal the pipe to the air box. Next step is cut a square in the top of the air box and surround the opening with thick spongy foam tape type stuff, that will isolate the opening on the air box to the opening in the hood. If everything is done properly the only air geting in the intake will have to go through the hood into the air box and pulled in from there. No air form the engine bay will make its way in.
