would these cams work in our 2.2 eco, found these listed in the ecotecforum.com classifieds

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dbilas-Performance-Camshafts-cams-z22se-Fast-road_W0QQitemZ320178442040QQihZ011QQcategoryZ72205QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

says will only work with engines with hydraulic lifters, and im too tired and my brain hurts too much from reading ecotecforum and megasquirt forums and here, ya ive been on the comp too long today.

I remember when I first started looking for cams way back in late 02 I looked at european cams for the ecotec 16v motors. Dbilas was one of them. But I never trusted them, and I doubted they would fit. That was back then

Now I am strongly doubting that any cam from over there would fit our motor (2.2eco).

The eco name, not the family. Its a distant relationship so to speak. Different engines, same name.

The Saab 03+ 9-3 has an ecotec engine. The cams in it would be similar to the lsj. The linear (LO engine) had lower lift cams of that of the AERO (has a T next to 2.0 on the back as oppose to 2.0t for the LO)

so you do know for sure, or are u just stating the obvious about the motors and names? cuz dont come in and post an answer that is wrong all based on a guess.

i know of the different names, i know of the heads, even the saab lk9 head is swappable as it being the same casting as the lsj, and of how a lot and i mean a lot of eco stuff is swappable.

also what i found from ecotecforum.com

there was also a pic there so some wording may confuse

Z22SE and its Varients
(Follow'd from a previous discussion.)

As you can tell most everything is in the same place, except for the positioning of the battery/airbox/brake resivoir/coolant/ecu/oil dipstick/fuse box. Oh and they have an engine cover . The Z22SE engine is the same as the 2.2 ECOtec that we have, except for minor differences that make it a pain in the ass. For example, they have a MAJOR problem with the cam chain snapping. Also some older models have power steering pumps driven by one of the cams, newer ones do not. Thier engine is managed by a completley different ECU and can/has be/been chipped to gain about 10hp. Of course they are right hand drive. Also thier base (re: cheap) gas is 91 octane, super is 95 octane, and super plus is 98/100 octane. As in the U.S. across the EU there are variants with the same block and different heads. The most common with these variants are the Alfa-Romeo's.

so as i said im still not sure on if the cams would work, one part of what i took says, The Z22SE engine is the same as the 2.2 ECOtec that we have, but then says, As in the U.S. across the EU there are variants with the same block and different heads. The most common with these variants are the Alfa-Romeo's.
so again, i wold like someone with actual knowledge to step in here and give a good answer. thanks
