I heard these engines come turbo from factory. Are they the exact same ecotecs has in cavaliers or are they forged internals? if so that would be sweet. just drop one of those in my car and boost the hella out of it.
ECOtec DOHC
you already have an eco... get HP Tuners, Hahn stage 2 kit, and some forged rods and pistons and boost the hell out of it... no reason to swap motors.
I could be wrong but I really doubt the saab turbo ecotec comes with forged pistons or rods.
FORGET GIRLS GONE WILD WE HAVE GOVERNMENT SPENDING GONE WILD!
Maybe stronger rods, but not so strong pistons like the LSJ?
If Im not mistaken the Saab turbo Eco is identical to the LSJ with the exception of a turbo instead of a S/C.
I doubt that because I know for a fact the Lnf is completely different from the lsj.
Im using the Lnf as an example of another 2.0 ecotec. They also have an iron block 2.0 in The Opels I believe
saab turbo is the exact same as the LSj.
Just buy a trubo kit and some internals...and you will be golden
Hardy har har, my car has forged rods stock betch!
Not that it helps you any. Or anybody else for that matter.
But know you know.
thanks alot guys. this whole time since i dont know much about gm systems, i didnt know WTF to get. But ima just do that. I did find a ecotec motor online for about 400 bucks. thats what ima do. hp tuners is that a full ems. or piggy back?? and what to do with the ecu?
ECOtec DOHC
HPT is used to modify the factory program. So its neither a piggy back or stand alone.
if its to modify the factory program then it is a piggyback? isnt it. how much do those likts usually cost?
ECOtec DOHC
HPT actualy reprograms the computer (same as a reflash), where as a piggy back is an outside module.

Hp tuners basically plug into the OBD2 port and let's you modify everything the computer sees its only short coming is the lack of resolution in the stock computers tables. A stand is alone is the better choice but hpt is is the easiest plug its not that expensive and keeps the car emisions legal. Check out tuning forum for more info.
