Best = GMPP

as for the so much for so little gain.... what makes you think your magically gonna have a huge gain going form one performance head from another?

I think he means from stock, and to answer your question in the simplest form...everything needs to work together to make more power. what you have done already will determine how the car will respond to the new part.

If you are worried about cost versus performance gains this would be the stupidest thing you could do!

oh and no im not worried about cost vs performance gain...i just dont want to buy something that doesnt do the job as good as another head...

so thats why im asking which head is the best for my car

no, quickest time is a 14.004 and a 14.04 (weird) both were at 96mph

the car did get quicker 60' times since then, but I haven't been able to match the e/t then toasted the engine..

I have a fresh one now but removed the head and cams... I'm pretty close to just throwing them back on, getting bumpier cams and re-doing my exhaust so it will flow better.. the header I have is a piss-poor design and is more for aestetic than performance.

I've learned a lot since last year, so I know I could definetly get the car into the 13s I just have to buy new cams and do everything i just mentioned and drive it to the track.

but to keep OT, the patriot head is a good bargain, but the GMPP head is a much better piece.. although its a bit harder to come by and costs a bit more.. you get your moneys worth

I doubt anyone has dyno tested both heads on the same car. Besides the cams you use will have more to do with determining the peak hp and where in the rpm range that is than the brand of head.

After looking at your profile I would be more concerned about having some shocks that can handle the drop you have than making an already poor handling car faster. Do you even know what eibach springs you have on it?

no need to dyno, so far as head work goes all you have to do is flow-bench them.. and both heads have been flow benched. the GMPP head flows more at the same lift than the patriot head, period.

the patriot head is easier to come by, and costs less. Bonus.

the GMPP head costs more, a bit harder to find, but will make more power and be more reliable. Bonus.

it all depends on what the OP wants.

GMPP head

Patriot stage 2 head

the GMPP head goes up to .550 lift, which is more than any readily available cam selection we have.. but if you look at .450 lift...

patriot head @ .450 lift = 265cfm IN and 189cfm EX
GMPP head @ .450 lift = 273cfm IN and 210cfm EX

8cfm MORE for the intake, and 21cfm MORE for the exhaust...

remember, cfm = cubic feet a minute.. so thats a lot of air you're gaining. especially on the exhaust side.. which will help a ton for scavenging.. or spooling up a turbo.

in terms of flow...
GMPP > Patriot Performance

lol, do it already man, I just know you can, your just too close to not

BTW with respects to your header i thought what you had was better than the Pacesetter it terms of overall performance, are you going to go with something custom made?

hey skwirl, did you get you're block machined for those darton sleeves? kinda curious what machine shops in the east coast get for doing that kind of work! and see if they'll tell you how much material they had to cut out of the water jacket to fit the girdles!!
