I am doing a eco swap in my 99 sunfire. What im wondering is if i solder and heat shrink my splices, ie at tail of car and fuel system, will there be any issues or adverse effects? Like resistance differnces or whatever...let me know..phil
its all a lil bit different.........
the tail lights will work by plugging it in,
you will need to add wires for the fuel system.
1 for the evap and one for the somethng else.
the wheel speed sensor work too.
everything else is different

should be very little, unless its a bad solder joint.
Why not just swap all the wiring over. It is simple to do.
FU Tuning
I am having to splice 2 harnesses i have got...also the 99's share the same fuel setup as the 2000's but with a metal tank so i can just splice at the plug. But either way i just had 2 half good harnesses and has to be joined at the rear of the car where it goes under the rear seat.
It will be a full 2004 harness..but just spliced at the fuel plug and the rear, with anothe harness i have.
i just finished swap in the spring, swap to the plastic tank and the only rewiring that you will have to do is for the fuel gauge, and its very simple by repining your plug that goes to the back of the car. If you want pm with your addy and i can add you to msn.
