Just wondering if anybody is running nuetral balance shafts in there daily driver.
I just finished my motor and finished breaking it in. every thing feels great. but I was wondering around 4000 rpms if you get a real strong vibration. motor pulls good and feels great. lol but it lets out this deafing vibration around 4000 rpms and then it goes away. so just want a little info on the matter.
well ya I have them in. Karo had mentioned on putting them in if I wanted to spin the motor at a higher RPM. I am just wanted to make a match on my experience to make me feel better. lol
HMMM i GUESS NOT MANY PEOPLE ARE RUNNING NUETRAL BALANCE SHAFTS ON THERE DAILY DRIVERS
the stock balance shafts are basically uneven weights spinning at twice the engine RPM. they do this on a lot of four cylinders to cancel out the inherit harmonics that 4 cylinders have. so, imagine spinning these uneven weights at over 13K RPM. plus, they're weighted, so installing the lighter neutral balance shafts help take away all that weight.
what you're probably seeing is normal for those neutral balance shafts. the vibrations are probably caused by the harmonics coming from the rotating lower assembly.

YEA THAT IS WHAT i AM THINKING. i APPRECIATE THE HELP. i HOPE THAT i CAN HEAR FROM SOMEONE THAT HAS THEM.
I have neutral shafts on a fully balanced and blueprinted LD9.
Motor feels fine at wot until about 4000 rpm and then the harmonics kick in... it gets really really noticable above 5500 rpm... I guess basically solid mounting everything didn't help that either. lol.
Anyway. I have them. It's normal. No worries.

Slowly but surely may some day win this race...
^ Hey I removed my balance shafts, never heard of neutral shafts one. But i got the quad oil pump installed, so how bad is that vibration? Is it ugly bad and does it effect performance. Just wondering what im getting myself into.
GMR has got nothing on this
neutral shafts are for the eco.
i was thinking about gettign them

Cool that is exactly what I feel. lol Now I can sleep better.
soory i thought it was sahft delete......sorry
i have them installed too. i noticed a little more vibration, not much. I got more vibration from the lower motor mount. When I put that in the vibrations resonated through the entire car.
yea I have solid motor mounts and solid tranny mounts. but through all my research I have found that they are normal soo sounds like everything is ready turn up the boost
