Apexi ecv.. what do you think???

i'm just looking for some feedback on my exhaust setup. i know its not the best but i like it so far. i have a pacesetter 4-1 header, high flow cat, 2.25 custom bent pipe its not mandrel or crinkle bent, i'm not sure what the other type is called. now where it gets a little different. i have a 2000 sunfire gt (2.4) and the stock bumper is molded for 2 exhaust tips so i didn't' want it to look dumb with only 1 pipe. i had the shop install an Apexi Exhaust Cutout Valve in the drivers side pipe after the y (no muffler on drivers side). on the passengers side they put a dynomax super turbo muffler in. the ecv is essentially a butterfly valve that opens and closes the straight pipe with the pull of a knob by my seat. i now have an effective sound control lever. when i want to let it lose i open the ecv, when i want to be a little quieter i close it. you can see a pic of the ecv installed in my profile, sorry no pics of just the part check out www.apexi.com for a pic. i'm open to all c&c and potential pros\cons you might think of. also my high flow cat is spitting chunks of itself out the tail pipe, some as big as a golf ball, it's obvious it has gotten too hot b\c some of the membrane is melted together. a result of the exhaust setup or another problem, perhaps running too rich??? sorry 4 jumping around so much
