Well,
After alot of price shopping and comparisons I finnaly bought my valve train.
I ended up going with GM Racing..... really the reason Im posting this is because I didnt even think that thier stuff was affordable but it was.
Karo ended up helping me out on the price and I got a complete valve train for around 1000$ shipped.
The package was great and as usual great service too.
The cheapest I was able to get the Ferrea equivilent would have been between 1200-1300 shipped. (I live in Canada)
So if anyone is thinking of reving to the sky this is a good set up for 9000rpms.
Sice everyone loves pics I figure Id post a few important parts to my build:
1) The valve train
2) My Comp Cams Stage 3 NA Grind cams
3) My Tec3R thats going to allow me to rev to 9000rpms with accurate ignition and fuel control.
Watch out for a killer N/A eco next summer!

Did you choose the GM just because of cost?
FYI Ferra took GM stuff and copied it.. its all the same for the most part

No not just the cost...... I feel a little more confident in the parts because they're used in the GM drag program, so to me that means they're proven.

I didnt know that...... that actually makes me want to buy GM parts more...... its like im paying them for R&D!

Nice parts man, and I heavily applaud the use of standalone engine management. You won't regret that for damn sure.
Gonna be a nice build to watch, I've been keeping up with your posts for the last few months and this thing is gonna be strictly business.

The cost of the TEC3R + instalation/tuning/dyno time is going to kill me, but I know its going to be worth it in the end.

They are GM perf. I would contact Karo if your thinking of buying them. I dont know the part #s

im actually looking for some valvetrain parts.. springs is what i was really lookin for, but im starting to wonder
A) buy the complete valvetrain and suck it up (cost wise) (1mm oversize)
B) just get the springs and do the rest later..
i have a spare head, was going to get it ported and polished.. i figured if i get the valvetrain i could just have them do a 3 angle valve job at the same time..
this is what i was planning for the winter parts buying list:
cams (of course)
tach
springs
arp headstuds
any recommendations for the tach gameoverracing?
tnx for postin up that info too, it helps in the search

1 - If you get dual valve spring setup, you will need more than just the dual valve springs. You will need the following parts. Dual Valve Springs, Dual Valve Spring Seats, and Ti Retainers. If you are going that far, might as well change the valves out and get some better Stainless Steel Valves. While you are in there, might as well play it safe and get new valve stem seals along the way to make sure you have a fresh head to work with. You will reuse your stock keepers and go from there on.
2 - Cost of Valves for stock size vs 1mm oversize is the same. The only differance will be the machine work needed to make the 1mm oversize fit correctly in the head which will cost some more money @ the machine shop.
3 - If you will do it, do it all the first time. If you can not afford to do it all at the same time, save your money and do it at the same time. When you do things over more than once, you will end up spending alot more money then needed be.
4 - Dont forget, chances are you will need a new head gasket as well when you do all these changes along with some other odds and ends in seals and gaskets. Plan a head so you are not stuck.
5 - If you can afford it, go with the head studs while everything is apart.

I peronally would choose "A", I was thinking of just doing springs at first too, then I thought "well, I should probably do 1mm oversize to take full advantage" ..................... really if your getting springs AND valves, thats the point where you may as well get all the supporting hardware too.
Basicly if you could get by just with springs, just get them... if your considering valves as well, go all the way.

As far as the Tach, all the cars that I have built up, I always use Autometer, ive had really good luck with all thier products. As well they are all over e-bay so you can get decent prices.

hey karo i was wondering how much it is for all the internals for the head with out the cams and how much difference is it with the 1mm oversize and would it be good to shave port and polish my head to get a power gain or just port and polish and if so how much of either do i need to do???
