a polyurethane upper engine mount or even the insert do not add performance, they simply allow the power you have in your engine to be more accurately transmitted to the driving wheels. since the engine no longer rocks in place after the urethane, the energy that was twisting the engine is now transmitted to your wheels. as for a turbo, build your own kit, you'll be better off.

Never Enough Auto sells Prothane and they have a kit for your car. The mounts help transfer energy to the ground, they do not increase horsepower

Since you mentioned you're used to building V8's, I'm assuming that you're also used to building muscle cars. If so, you can probably make sense of it by this comparison: the polyeurethane motor and tranny mounts do the same thing that traction bars do on a solid axle RWD car: they allow less torque loss through flex and movement in the drivetrain, thereby puting more power to the ground.

oh yea that makes complete sense now..its like chaning down your motor so it doesn't move when it torques..It helps to transfer the power to the wheels instead of losing it when it moves. thanks for all your help guys
