I'm trying to figure out the nominal (at idle) oil pressure of an ecotec engine.
If your wondering why. I'm going to be installing an oil accumulator when I put my engine back together and need to know the pressure so I can purchase the right valve for the system.
For those who don't know an oil accumulator prevents oil pressure drops by using an oil reserve cylinder, when the oil pressure drops below a specific amount, the accumulator adds extra oil to the engine to compensate for the drop in pressure, when the pressure comes back up it recharges the accumulator, maintaining even pressure between the accumulator and the internal engine oil pressure.
They also allow you to pre-oil the engine so you never have to start up without oil pressure.

I hope this helps ...

-Oil pressure @1,000 RPM – 50-80 psi
It was taken from the sticky that darkstarts (ryan) did.

Oil pressure @1,000 RPM – 50-80 psi
I get that at startup. I have seen it hit over 100 psi, if you need to get going shortly after you started her up.
By the time it hits operating temp it drops down to 25-35 or so.
