I have a 1999 sunfire and want to swap in the LD9. What is need if I get a pre 2k cav or fire with an engine ( say same trans as mine) to go in no troubles? I was going to do an eco ( still might just depends on what I find first) but I don't want to do all the wiring. SO anyway what is the parts I would need from the donor car? Also what other cars can I use that have the 2.4 and what parts can I use from them (For example, a Grand Am)

IMO, you're best off getting a 2000+ LD9 engine and manual tranny with ecu. I don't know what else is needed, but I don't think you'd need a whole harness, like you would for an eco. if you're willing to go to the trouble of doing an eco, this is easier and (IMO) better.



LD9 F23 FTW!!

I was under the impression that 2000+ they switched to the BCM (Body Control Module) and I would have to rewire the car if I went above 99. I could swear that the whole electrical system changed after 99. Or was that just for the 01+?
