I have searched this, and the only thing i found was that the valve cover would have to be clearanced and that it hasn't been done,.. as of then. I have a set of 1-7 rockers that i'm goin to try to put on my 97 2.2. Is there enough clearance between the piston and the valves for this to work.
They always ask but they never search. Geez...

yes i did search this for about 2 hours.......
i am goin to use a set of 1.7 factory chevy rockers. I have not heard anyone else mention anything about using the rocker arms out of a 250 straight 6. they have the sbc stud size but are the 1.7's.
Read through that entire post. Theres lots of info in there about having to use different pushrods, shorter valves, different lifters, and so on. Its not just a matter of the mounting studs. The 1.7 ratio rockers on stock springs would likely bind the springs anyway, a very bad thing.
