my friend has a grand am with a ld9 in it with "CAI" and he is always dogging on my OHV sunfire and i was wondering what i need in my car to beat him. i have the "CAI" i was thinking headers exhaust and a 2.3 throttle body should do it. but what else do you think i would need to beat him. i have reaced him before and he totally blew me away its a really fast engine i probably kept up with him for about 2 secs then he took me. but htat was before i pout the "CAI" in and i think i could keep up with him for about 4 secs after i put that in cause it improved my aceleration a lil bit.
Just hook a 75-100 shot NOS juice u will take him easy.

With a 2.2 spd it's very easy to take on the 2.4 GA automatics. You just get to about 35 and take off in 2nd gear. The grand am will bog down pretty bad as it's inbetween shiftpoints at that speed.
Additionally, since you have a 97, you cannot get the 2.3 TB. That's a 98+ mod.
damn and no i cant take him at about 35 i have done this before and i have ben in his car while he has raced it and it never bogs down. and i mean never. it has kept up with a turbo'd protege before! its a fast ass engine i dont know what he has done to it but he says all he has is intake.
