I was looking out for some forged pieces at www.summitracing.com that could fit on my LD9 2.4L TWIN CAM and I found the EAGLE ESP H-BEAM CONNECTING RODS
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=ESP%2D5710C3D&view=32&N=700+ but I realized that in the application section the comment was
"Fits Chevy Quad 4 LD9 engines" and at the same time I found the WISECO SPORT COMPACT PISTON AND RING KITS
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=WIS%2DK584M905&view=1&N=700+150+, the application comment this time was
"Fits LD9 non quad four models", so I am a little bit confused. I know that a QUAD 4 engine has the HO manifold and if I`m not wrong that is the only diference, my engine is just like the one on the picture, could you please help me with this issue? can I use these two pieces on my engine?
It's just an error from them. Those pistons are the 0.020 over for the 2.4 and the rods are the right ones. the 2.3 rods are 58**.
It says 2.4 too.

What compression ratio are the pistons in the link?

Your not anymore confused than Summit and/or their suppliers are.
LD9 = Twin Cam = 2.4lt
QUAD4 = 2.3lt
The quad was GM's coporate 4v engine from 88 to 95. The Twin Cam was a revised version of that engine from 96-2002.
Both engine look identical except for intake and marking changes so most people and companies incorrectly carryover the name QUAD4 to all of them.
The parts are different though and would not be interchangable.
The parts you are looking at are 99% likely to be for the 2.4, not the Quad.
Parts for the 2.3 are usually identified as OLDSMOBILE QUAD4 2.3.
Parts for the 2.4 are usually listed as CHEVROLET 2.4.

From the description, the parts he linked are the right ones. The eagle rods for the 2.3 have a part number starting by 58. Wiseco don't make pistons as on shelf for the 2.3.

you are wrong..lots of difference..seems like you have some research to do..MD-LD's link is a good read

its in an autobot..duh..thats why you dont recognize it
and to sum things up..the 2.4 TC is STILL considered a "quad4" by gm..lots of parts are interchangable..lots arnt....but on THIS site the term quad4 will relate to the 2.3 early edition and the twin cam will relate to the later model 2.4..but THATS why the listing for the parts is like that
Gee guys, thanks a lot. So the pieces that i found at summit.com can be used on the 2.4 TWIN CAM without any problem right?
