OK I have a 00 S/C 2.4 the other day I was driving along and I decided to pass somebody so I geared down and it went to like 4500 RPM and all of a sudden the engine started missing REALLY bad I pulled over and finally discovered that something has hit my number 2 spark plug and completely smashed it no gap at all left, So I replaced it and the car ran fine now it has done it 2 more times on my number 1 cylinder I have noticed excessive oil consumption and it has a tendency to smoke really bad for about 20 seconds going down the road then it clears right up. It also has a weird ticking sound that increases speed with the engine. I think this sounds like symptoms of a wrist pin but would both number 1 and 2 go bad in that short of a time?
