2001 Pontiac Sunfire possibilities

Here is the deal: I have a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire SE sedan (Auto. Trans) that I'm trying to put more power in. Some of the mods I want to do to it are as follows: new magnaflow or flowmaster exhaust system - probably a cat-back system at that - (headers and all), cold-air intake, hood scoop?, carbon fiber hood, wheels and tires, and turbo. I'm trying to find out how much this would cost and any ideas on what to get and how to go about doing it. Any help would be great.

Everyone I have asked said I should just scrap the project, sell the car and buy a car better suited for modding.... What is your input on it?

Looks like you should hang out and do a little more research. Read on brother.

Well

Lets see you have the '01 Sunfire SE with Auto tranny -

So you have the 115 hp 2.2L ohv I4 correct?

Checkout Performance part companies like RKSport, & JBP. They should have some good performance parts for your car.

Check into possible idea of an engine swap(if you want to) with a LD9 (2.4l TC) or L61 (2.2 Ecotec).

Also of note: I believe Hahn racing makes a Turbo kit of the 2.2L ohv motor.

Just because you have a 2.2L ohv Motor, doesn't mean you don't have options.

Yeah, I do have that. Thanks. I checked in the Newbie Forum and didn't get much help from there.... Anyway, RKSport is a good one to check out right? I have heard it's good. I have also heard about the Hahn Turbo Kits. I have also been thinking about the ecotec engine swap. What car should I get it out of? Someone told me once to check the LS1 and LS2 Saturns.... Would that work?

I know some GM motors can be swapped into other GM cars, so that's why I was asking about the Saturn engine going in. A friend of mine has a 2.2L Saturn Ion with an ecotec in it. It's pretty quick. He is going to add twin turbo, but I think it only needs one. I'll let him do to his car what he wants. I'm focused on mine.

Well the for the ecotec swap - almost any '03 or later j-bodies(cavies & sunfires), N-bodies (grand ams, or malibus) also saturn ion(delta) would work. Personally I would recommend to attempt to find it in another later model j-body - since you maybe able to get the ECM, and motor mounts(which you will need).

Yes, RK sport is good to check out especially for stuff like Suspension, Brakes, performance enhancers (including pulleys, intakes, & Nitrous kits) & Body kits (StreetFire series), I also believe they have a turbo kit for j-bodies (at least they once did),
